Ventrol Software Designed with Engineers in Mind
Ventrol offers new software to enhance its working relationship with consulting engineers and contractors.
Pro-Select
Developed for the 32-bit Windows environment, Pro-Select is backed by knowledgeable and highly skilled air handling unit design and expertise. Size an air handling unit using either CFM and static pressure or simply input the desired cabinet size, fan, coil, filter quantity and size. Pro-Select will optimize all this data and develop a unit to meet your specific requirements. Pro-Select can provide easy computer selection and design, complete with engineering documents and scaled drawings. When you need more detailed customization, simply stretch the cabinet width and height using the velocity, pressure drop and physical dimensioning tools that are integrated into the software.
For maximum flexibility Pro-Select features three selection modes.
Automatic
To obtain a Ventrol "ideal" unit, simply input the CFM total static pressure and face velocity. Using Ventrol's Fan Selection software, Pro-Select will quickly choose a fan as well as the cabinet size according to the physical constraints of the fan.
Stretch the cabinet height and width dimensions to meet your particular re-quirements.
Advanced
This option allows you to specify the fan orientation, isolation, cabinet casing thickness and filter access you want.
Expert
If the space is limited, the expert mode will allow you to manually enter the maximum cabinet height and width. Or, with a predetermined fan, coil size and filter count, you may size the physical air handling unit dimensions around the desired components.
Finally, after sizing the cabinet dimensions, Pro-Select will allow you to graphically pick, drag and edit the individual component modules.
Fan Selection
The Ventrol Fan Selection software gives you the ability to input CFM, static pressure, elevation and view the fan curves and operating performance (including sound power by octave band) for up to 10 fans all at once.
An enhanced fan performance grid lists each available fan and its corresponding operating data. The "Preferences" menu allows you to customize the viewing and printing of fan curves to enable grids of families of curves. Dynamic scaling guarantees readability no matter the screen size or resolution. Our "smart motor list" guarantees your selection will exceed requirements for belt loss horsepower and fan inertia.
Coil Selection
This ARI approved coil selection and rating tool allows you to rate a coil based on given conditions or to select the best coil to meet your design constraints.
Like the Fan Selection software, the coil program is multi-modal, operating independently or becoming an integrated module for Pro-Select.
Tab control allows you to select and rate up to six different coil types simultaneously:
• Chilled Water
• Hot Water
• Steam
• CX Condenser
• DX Refrigeration
• Booster
"Expert system" routines monitor input to ensure that coils do not exceed ARI limits. This database additionally checks performance scenarios like freezing air-side temperatures with unprotected chilled water, prompting the user to add glycol while the program calculates the minimum amount required. |
